HYPER LOOP PROJECT
the concept of Hyperloop is going to be the future of high speed transportation. it is 7/2 times faster than Japan's bullet train concept. it is a high speed train that runs in a loop at a speed of more than 700 mph which is much larger as compared to the speed of bullet train which is 200 mph.
Hyperloop contains magnetic parts levitating inside a tube at 1000km/hr. it can travel 381 miles in just 45 minutes. This project will reduce congestion and pollution thereby making it easier for people to travel who work and live in different cities.
With a successive human test drive on November 2020, it could be less than 10 years becoming reality. the concept of hyperloop became widely popular in 2013. Elon Musk's 58 page hyperloop research papers that aligned the design, cost and the safety of the concept. Research says that magnetic levitation plays an important role in this project. it is the magnetic levitation that allows the hyperloop to go incredibly fast. Even there is less friction between the train parts and tube shaped track.
The general concept of magnetic levitation is simple. the magnets lining in the bottom of the part repel the tube material levitating the part as it runs. Josh Giegel(Cofounder and CTO, virgin hyperloop) and Chuck Michaels(Regulatory Advisor and US Feasibility Studies Lead, HyperloopTT) had been currently developing the best combination of magnets to create smoothest drive possible using passive or active maglev.
Passive maglev uses permanent magnets in a specific configuration to create a constant magnetic current that levitates the part. Active maglev uses a combination of permanent magnets and electromagnets the later which can manipulate the electric current and the strength of the current.
Hyperloop concept removes a key element which holds a lot of trains and planes back which is none other than air resistance. hyperloop contains vacuum pumps located at every 10 kms in the loop which suck out 99% of the air between the capsule and the tube.
